At The Law Office of William J. Collins, P.C., we want you to know that you are not alone in this difficult process. We want to make the experience as positive for you as possible by ensuring that you are properly informed throughout the entire process. Additionally, we want to make sure that you have access to our staff to ensure that your questions are addressed and you are comfortable with this decision.

What Do We Offer

• Our Approach - to guiding clients on whether or not to file for Bankruptcy is analyzing the numbers and recommending that you treat this as a business decision. We do not engage in any moral guidance on whether or not Bankruptcy is right. We believe that the credit industry is still doing very well. Furthermore, we have no sympathy for companies who loan money at ridiculous interest rates to those who cannot pay it back, forcing them to be in debt the rest of their life.

• Free Initial Consultation - you will have a free initial consultation with Bankruptcy Attorney William Collins. At the meeting your personal financial situation will be discussed and analyzed to see if Bankruptcy is right for you. We will talk about how Bankruptcy works with focus on the differences between Chapter 7 and Chapter 13. Additionally, we will discuss the various advantages, disadvantages, and cost associated with all the debt relief options. As stated above, our analysis will focus on whether this is a proper business decision for you.

• Free Credit Report - we will provide a free credit report at your initial consultation. We will explain what the score means and what a Bankruptcy filing means for your credit score. After the Bankruptcy we will offer another free credit report to actually show you how your score stands. Finally, we will explain how you can rebuild your credit and explain how to correctly use financing in the future.

• Up Front and Reasonable Prices - our office believes that the legal cost of Bankruptcy should not be a mystery, and that the potential client should not be surprised to hear a number at our initial consultation. Therefore, we post our prices up front for typical cases and allow flexible payment plans.

• Chapter 7 - The cost of a typical Chapter 7 case is $1600, plus the $299 filing fee, plus the cost of the mandatory credit counseling (typically $50 to $65). The fee may increase in unusual cases that require adversarial proceedings (but most cases will not incur this charge). This fee must be paid in full prior to filing. However, potential clients are allowed to formulate a payment plan that works for them prior to filing.

• Chapter 13 - A Chapter 13 case is more complex which causes the cost to increase to $2800. However, unlike a Chapter 7 plan, most of your payments can be incorporated into your rehabilitation plan allowing you pay over time. Typically, $600 is expected prior to filing which will cover your $274 filing fee and credit counseling requirement. The remaining $2200 will be paid with your rehabilitation plan over time. As with Chapter 7, potential clients are allowed to formulate a payment plan that works for them for the initial $600.

• Contact With Your Attorney -  we are committed to providing excellent service to the client. Every client receives a phone call every Monday to discuss progress and/or issues with your case. Our office maintains a two hour call back policy. If you call our office and no one is available, then someone from our office will call you back within two hours (during normal business hours). We ensure this availability by limiting or case load. Our commitment is to note take on more than 10 new cases per month.

• You Deal With Our Team Only  - at our practice we do not hire other attorneys to cover creditor meetings or any other matter. Attorney William Collins will be at any and all proceedings, including your meeting of creditors.

• Convenient Location  - our offices are conveniently located right off Highway 75 in between Park and Parker Roads. Our office complex has free surface lot parking. Additionally, we are a little over 1,000 feet from the Parker DART Rail Station. We can pick you up from the Parker Road Train Station if your needs require it (please contact us for details).

• Online Access Available  - our office has online software that will allow you to enter in your information about your case. This streamlines the information gathering process saving you time and effort.
